Installing Sound Deadening

It’s hard to believe how long ago I ordered sound deadening material, fully expecting that I would need it within the next couple weeks. That was three months ago. At the time I thought I’d have moved out of my condo by now. I thought I’d be out in the middle of nowhere, congratulating myself on my solar setup, and enjoying the quiet sounds of nature. Ha, delusions of grandeur for sure. In my defense, I’ve had a few unexpected events divert my attention for weeks at a time. I know, excuses, excuses.

Rain prevented me and Jef from diving in to the bed liner, but there’s plenty of stuff to do while we wait for the weather to clear up. I finally removed that pesky bolt from the roof, and Jef removed a few odd blocks of foam from the interior.

We decided to begin installing sound deadening to the high top. I chose to go with FatMat Mega Mat for a number of reasons. At $2.39 per square foot it’s not cheap, and I hope the results will be worth it.
