Bam! Bzzzzzz… Wham! Bam, bam, bam, bam, BAM!
Great, what are the neighbors up to now? Ah, remodeling bathrooms, I see. The noise quickly sent my blood pressure up and my tolerance for other humans down. Apartment life is not for those who work from home, and need a quiet environment to do so. Seeing as today is Thursday, and on Thursdays we play the “no parking from 9 a.m. to 12 noon” game, I packed up the van, the dog, and myself and headed to the park for a few hours of peace, quiet, and work.
Upon returning (promptly at 11:50 a.m.―my way of sticking it to the man, while also snagging my favorite parking spot) I dove into finishing up the last sound deadening section on the ceiling. Mega Mat, by the way, seems to be working quite well. Even though the floor has yet to be covered, there’s a definite difference in the amount of road noise coming in. Maybe it’s just the placebo effect. Either way, I’m satisfied.
What’s coming up next? Tomorrow I’ll finish up blasting the sound deadening on the ceiling with the heat gun, and hopefully start putting up some insulation. I’m procrastinating doing any work on the floor because I can already tell it’s going to be a huge pain in the butt… you’d think I’d be used to that by now.
