Work has picked up again over the past few days, so pretty much all of my time has been spent clicking around in Photoshop, or visiting my dad. It’ll be a few more days before I can pull my head out of my computer and get back to the van stuff.
My dad has been quite a handful for the nurses at the nursing home. He spends a good three or four hours a day being an angry zombie. He kicks, punches, and generally resists things. He sits on other patients’ beds and steals their pillows. He’s always drooling. When he’s not being an angry zombie he’s doing things that require a lot of one-on-one attention. Yesterday he pulled down his diaper and sat on the bed (thank goodness it was his and not someone else’s), thinking it was the toilet. As my mom and I struggled to transfer him to the bathroom, he pooped on the floor. And then my mom stepped in it. Yours truly got to spend 45 stinky minutes cleaning her shoe with a toothbrush. I contemplated buying her a new pair of shoes instead of cleaning the old ones.
Unfortunately, dad’s health has taken yet another turn for the worse. He now has a collapsed lung. The poor guy can’t catch a break, yet he keeps fighting to live. I’m sure there’s a life lesson in there somewhere.
On a lighter note, Sake’s up to her usual antics. Here she is drying herself off after a bath.
