What is this? A toggle clamp for ants!?
I ordered a couple toggle clamps online, and as is common with online purchases, what came in the mail was very much different from what I thought I was ordering. While this 2.5-inch long toggle clamp is probably too small for my purposes (acting as a brake for the fridge dolly) it is by far the cutest piece of hardware I’ve seen in awhile.
Speaking of cute, this is how I do van work with Sake around.
And this is where I put her when I’m buying wood.
Today was spent cutting and sealing wood, and in the next couple days that wood will be put to use. It’s getting down to the wire—I really have to commit to a layout in order to make any progress and I’m feeling pretty nervous about it. If I bit my nails or smoked, I’d have bald bloody stumps for fingertips or emphysema.
The biggest point of contention is whether or not a 62 quart fridge/freezer combo will be large enough to hold one weeks’ worth of food for two people and dog. I ran a little test to prove to myself that it would work, but I’m honestly still not convinced. I’m starting to lean toward getting two 45 quart units, one for a fridge, and one for a freezer, but the power consumption and overkill alarms are going off in my head. I just may leave the decision up to a coin toss.
After a bit of a struggle with some split wood and headless screws, I’m happy to report that the my positively brilliant design for window shades works quite well (to my surprise). Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of the first one in action, so you can look forward to that tomorrow.
