One of the Edgestar 43 quart refrigerators arrived today!
Upside down, courtesy of FedEx. Luckily, being turned on his head didn’t seem to affect Edgestar one bit (yes, that’s his name). I plugged him in and seemed to do the one job that he has pretty well. He went from 77 degrees down to 33 degrees in less than 30 minutes. Nice.
Edgestar was definitely made in China. A strong whiff of that distinctive “Made in China” smell erupted from the box when I opened it. Additionally, the logo is crooked. And it’s made of cheap silver paper that I can easily peel off with my fingernail. Oh well, you can’t blame the people who made it. In fact, it’s pretty darn good work for a six-year-old.
I’ve been swamped with design and animation work all week, and it doesn’t look like it will slow down any time soon. It’s cramping my style just a bit because I’ve been itching to make progress on Gypsy, but I try to remember that progress on Gypsy takes money. Money comes form working. As quickly as the benjamins are rolling in, they’re even more quickly rolling out. And for once, I’m a typical American.
