Storage Deck

Jef and I aren’t experienced woodworkers, but that hasn’t stopped us from getting creative with our woodworking skills. The past couple of days have been spent building the storage deck that will support the bed. We decided to try using Jef’s sister’s ex-husband’s old table saw to cut notches for lap joints. It seemed to work nicely, and the deck turned out pretty well, but the real test will come tomorrow when we try to install it in the van. I really hope it doesn’t collapse.

Today’s video is a little funky. The frequency of the fluorescent lighting in the garage was out of sync with the shutter speed, so it produced a flickering effect.

Jef and I also built a box to encase the fresh water tank. Without it, the sides of the flimsy tank bulge outward quite a lot when the tank is full. Hopefully the box will prevent the polyethylene from cracking.
